Fall Gala Banquet Planned

The Triangle LSU Alumni Chapter announces our inaugural “Fall Gala Banquet." We are extremely honored to have Dr. Wayne Parent from LSU coming in to be our guest speaker. Dr. Parent comes highly acclaimed, and highly requested – so we are extremely fortunate to have him choose us to be on his speaking schedule.

"Gumbo Republic: Louisiana's Extraordinary Politics"
Speaker: Dr. Wayne Parent

Date: Saturday, August 12, 2006
Time: 7:00 pm
Location: TBA

For those of you who do not know – Louisiana is not only known for its colorful Mardi Gras Beads – but for her extremely colorful politics. If you would like to truly engulf yourself in an intriguing night, then please plan to join us for a night of humor, history, and facts – with Dr. Wayne Parent.

The plans as to where & time are sketchy – as we are still finalizing plans for this event. Lee is wanting feedback on a couple of questions to nail down final details. Please email leedugas@aol.com with your responses to the following:

#1) If you think you will be attending this event please email Lee back – and let him know how many will be attending (We are trying to figure out what size of venue)

#2) Is there anyone out there who might have access to a “Clubhouse” or some kind of facility that might be suitable to have us?

#3) Should we decide to go with a Gumbo Cook-off for the meal, we want to know who might be interested in competing. (Rules, amounts, kinds, etc. would follow) If not enough interest – then we will just cook one huge pot of Gumbo. Hopefully it will be Gumbo weather by then. (Surely only true Tigers fans would know what “Gumbo Weather” is) :o)

This event will be free of charge for paid dues members. For those non-paid dues members – there will be a modest $20.00 charge.
